Engineering entrance exams in India

Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE Mains) – Eligibility criteria is class 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry and Math as a core subject. It is conducted by CBSE. It is held for UG admission to B.E./B.Tech programmes in IIT’s, NIT’s, IIIT’s, and CFTI’s. It is the first stage or preliminary exams.

Joint Entrance Exam Advance (JEE Advance) – Eligibility criteria is clearing JEE Mains and being among top 224,000 (all categories included) and is the second stage of JEE Mains. It is conducted by 7 zonal Indian Institutes of Technology by rotation.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) – Eligibility criteria is B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch./B.S./ M.C.A. pass. It is conducted jointly by IIT’s and IISc. It is held for PG admission to Engineering, Technology, Architecture and Science programs offered across IIT’s, NIT’s and other centrally funded institutions.

Management entrance exams in India

Common Admission Test (CAT) – Eligibility criteria is bachelor degree with at least 50 percent marks or equivalent CGPA from any recognized university or institute. It is conducted by IIM on rotation basis for admissions in its 20 IIM’s and 100+ B schools located across India.

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) – Eligibility criteria is graduates in any discipline from a recognized university or institute. It is conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) for admission at PG level in more than 600+ B schools across India.

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) – Eligibility criteria is graduates (minimum 3 years duration) in any discipline from a recognized institute. Shortlisted candidates have to participate in group discussion, essay writing, written ability test and personal interview. It is conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for admission in MBA in around 1000 AICTE approved B schools.

Law entrance exams in India

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) – Eligibility criteria is Class 12th or equivalent pass from 10+2 education system. It is conducted by National Law Universities for admission to their undergraduate law program (B.A. LLB, B.Com LLB, and B.Sc. LLB) in more than 19 National Law Universities. Exams are conducted by one of the 19 National Law Universities by rotation. It is conducted for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses

Medical entrance exams in India

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) – Eligibility criteria is Class 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as a core subject. There should be no gap between 11th and 12th class. It is conducted by CBSE. It has replaced AIPMT and all admissions to UG of government, private and deemed universities medical college at central and state level for MBBS and BDS.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) – Eligibility criteria is possessing MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate and has completed a one-year rotating internship. It is conducted by National Board of Examination for admission to various MD/MS and PG Diploma courses. NEET PG has replaces DNB CET and AIPGMEE.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences MBBS Entrance Examination (AIIMS UG) – Eligibility criteria is Class 12th (or equivalent) pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as a core subject. It is conducted by AIIMS New Delhi for admission to MBBS at any of the 8 AIIMS campuses.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences Post Graduate Entrance Examination (AIIMS PG) – Eligibility criteria is having MBBS degree for MD/MS and BDS degree for MDS and completed a one-year rotating internship. It is conducted by AIIMS New Delhi for admission to MD/MS or MDS at AIIMS campuses.
